Hotel Delhi Heights : India Gate Tour

India Gate- A42mtrs. High free standing arch at one end of Rajpath, popularly known as India Gate, was designed by Lutyens and built in 1931.It was originally called All India War Memorial in memory of the 90,000 soldiers of the India Army who died in World War I. The names of the soldiers are inscribed all along the walls of the arch. In 1971, an eternal flame was lit here to honour the Amar Jawan (Immortal Soldier). At night India Gate is dramatically floodlit while the fountains nearby are lit with coloured lights.
